All quotations must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, endorsed on the outside with the advertised PR number, the closing date and Time and deposited in the Tender Box, Electricity House, Wynne Street, Harare, Zimbabwe before 10:00Hrs on the closing date notified.

TECHINICAL SPECIFICATION FOR SAFETY SHOES
- GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
~Manufactured not more than 1 (one) year from the date of supply.
~Guaranteed by a warranty period of at least 6 months.
~The sole of the shoes should be with a pattern, casted of either polyurethane (PU), combination
of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) or rubber (rubber), resistant to oil products, impermeable to
water and non-slip (i.e meeting the SRC class and marked with a respective mark).
~The pattern of the wearing surface of the sole should not be characterized by the risk of
breaking. The patters in cross section should be variable and of wider grooves.
~The year of manufacture should be impressed on the tongue or any other visible place of the
leather.
~The supplier should submit a sample of size 4.
- SAFETY SHOE MODEL DESCRIPTION
- The safety shoe should be laced through the holes or eyelets or a combination of both.
- The toe cap should be of steel or thermoplastic material and should be non-sagging and
- should withstand crushing impact of 200 joules.
- The connection should contain no sewing stitches and should be made of one leather part.
- The heel counter should be unbending.
- They should also have a closed type tongue located in the front part of the shoe and
- should prevent water, dirty and water from getting inside.
- MAIN MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS
Leather
The leather should be natural, hydrophobically processed leather with a natural grain. The
thickness of leather should be at least 2.0 mm. The softened edge of the shoes should be made of
natural, soft, hydrophobically processed leather as well.
Lining
The lining in the shoe connection and the top as well as under the tongue should be made of
rubbing-resistant materials. The lining material should be characterized by good moisture
absorption, vaporization and rubbing-resistance properties.
Sole
The sole should have the following properties;
~casted of polyurethane (PU), or a combination of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)
~resistant to fuel oil products
~impermeable to water
~slip resistant and should carry either or a SRA or SRC mark
~penetration resistant
~cleated outsole
~steel midsole
~should have a sufficient insulation from heat in case of unfavorable conditions and should also
be protected against breaking and ungluing at the maximum ambient temperature of +35oC .
Insert/Insock
The insert should be formed, removable, characterized by good absorption properties and
vaporizing the moisture from the feet. The insert should not lose its form and characteristics after
washing at the temperature of +30o .Should be of the thickness of at least 2.0mm.
Other Materials
Shoelaces-should be of woven polyester or polyamide, dark-colored and matching the color of
the shoelace.
At least 4 (four) pairs of metal or non-metal eyelets or holes or a combination of two should be
used for lacing the shoe. The metal parts should be resistant to corrosion.
The sewing thread should be impermeable (polyester or polyamide)
